speedbirdATC:
There cannot be any complaint to any aircraft establishing on the 08 ILS if they fly the 9 DME arc or from the EGT as neither penetrates into irish airspace.
The current 9d arc straddles the border which means its safeguarded airspace will extend well into Irish airspace. The current NDB procedure for 08 already penetrates Irish airspace. So why doesn't the IAA insist on CAS for those? What's the difference in safety terms between an aircraft flying an ILS outside CAS and an aircraft flying an NDB approach? There's only one I can think of, and that is that the tracks of aircraft flying the NDB approach will vary enormously compared to those on an ILS.
