The direct flight ex MSE is simply to EDI, where you can connect onto the Loganair service to Kirkwall and Sumburgh provided you don't mind a three and a half hour wait in EDI.
Good news for MSE getting the EDI service, but what a pity that the departure time is so unfriendly to business travellers. Only a twice-daily MSE-EDI will really test the viability of the route whereas the Flybe service is just a gap filler for an EDI-based aircraft, as is the MAN-BOH announced earlier this week.
