Hello!

Just another system to go wrong and completly blow you landing light system......
The manufacturer claims that the (in case of the Citations: very expensive!) bulbs last longer by using the "pulse light" system, as Cessna calls it. I have no reason to doubt that, because during the 500+ hours that I have flown "my" Citation now, we never had to change a landing or recognition light bulb. And the pulse light circuitry is all solid state, so there really isn't much to worry about. Also, I think it really improves aircraft visibility (not only to birds and animals!) - like having super powerful strobe lights. If I had to order the next aeroplane, I would certainly buy it with this option, even if it was at my own expense.
