A complex aircraft is:
* a jet (even a single-engine jet)
* a multi-engine turboprop
* any aircraft with more than 19 seats
* any aircraft more than 5700 kg
Interesting. I had always assumed (evidently incorrectly) that "complex" included
Any pressurised aircraft
single engine turbo prop
piston turbo charged
piston retractable
piston constant speed prop
Any twin
Any combination of above

BW's list effectively excludes virtually all piston types or stuff not requiring a type rating

Were any of the above categories included in a previous CAA/JAA definition rather than an EASA one?
