I lived with a lesion that I thought were bad hemmeriods
for years, I know well the painful to stand up feeling.
Well worth getting it checked properly, it *may* mean a
sigmoidoscopy (sp?) but....
They tried nitro-glycerine gel first, however, all that did was give me a
thumping headache, so, we went down the op route.. Ok, painful for a
week after, but, possibly the best thing in the long run.
I'd just been assuming it was just hemmeroids 'flaring up' but after
lectures from a) My GP, b) The consultant and c) The surgeon about
'that's what we're here for!' I learnt.
Very pleased with the NHS, excluding 4 weeks seeing of the Nitro gel
worked the whole thing was 8 weeks GP to surgery.
Aparently the Hemmeroids were not big enough to warrent banding and
it had been the lesion all along, for at least 15 years.
Looking back I *should* have had someting done earlier but, as others
have said the embaressment factor kicks in....
Don't let it!
