I tried magnifying the 'blackness' looking for brush strokes and any tell-tale signs of the original outline and so I had my head pressed against the monitor for a closer look when my wife caught me. She called me an idiot. I'm not an idiot, am I? Tell me you all do this? Right!?
It didn't help anyway. It looks an odd design for 1942? I tried filling in the gaps again and the tail reminded me of the Albatross so maybe a De Havilland design?
