Not sure about those 787s being deployed on LPE's longhaul routes so quickly. We are due to start SFO as of July and the extra 3 MADs/week around that time frame. The first 2 of 32 787s are only due to be delivered at years end.

The 787 is intended to replace the ageing A340-300s in LAN Chile's fleet initially and as more and more come on line to further expand LAN's growing network around the world. Rumours are rampant about Paris CDG soon, I personally am hoping for LHR.

Now, I pretty much doubt our Southern friends will be sharing their new toy with any of the LAN holding companies any time soon. However, if those 787 are wet leased to fly LPE flights, then that's a different matter all together.

Saludos,

OW
