Oh dear, I do love armchair critics!! The REASON that BA had more incidents than AF was because BA both operated more A/C (7 as opposed to 5) and flew infinitely greater hours. Before you make statements like this you need to be in posession of a few facts. OK, everyone accepts that the original high pressure tyre design was far too volatile shall we say, but any damage done was relatively minor. No British aircraft ever had an A4 section of the lower wing blown out. And get your facts right before you make such statements about something you clearly know nothing about; many modifications were carried out to reduce/minimise tyre blow out incidents.
