Spin Wing.....I think that a SE helicopter still has its place in this field
IF the limitations of such machines are acknowledged and operated within.
A former organisation of mine had a single as a back up machine for day VFR work (should the ME IFR bird become unavailable) and to be honest for a lot of the close in primary work it was ideal (and often I was glad to have it rather than a medium twin).
IMHO, and as long you don't expect it to do everything a ME IFR platform does, nothing wrong with using a single.
