Weren't they all asked to hang onto their uniform when their contracts ended last year?
Looks like a planned move to me - especially if you compare it to how the company reacts when I lose as much as a tie - and don't read anything into the 'refusals'. Given the vitriol they can expect, I'd keep quiet too....
