What is it supposed to be? Is it a standalone Unite document/proposal?
I read the first page and find myself confused.
I am initially surprised by the use of the term 'Core Principles,' the overused Bill Francis phrase.
Then under 'Our Challenges' we find:
- 'Delivering Permanent and Sustainable Cost Savings.'
- 'Reduction of Current Costs.'
Surely the same challenge? More importantly this is a significant shift from the 'temporary solutions to a temporary problem' BASSA mantra.
And then:
- 'Stable and simplified phased platform for change allowing a return to sustained onboard service levels with an increase in direct customer contact staff.'
So, at the same time as finally understanding that permanent change is required, £127 million of achieved/potential cost savings, via VR/part-time etc, is to be reintroduced, 'phased', back into the business?
Somebody shine some light for me.
