I would not take that opportunity if I were you. Going and working whilst the bulk of your potential future colleagues are on strike, would not be a prudent decision. When they do come back to work, and find out that you worked as a 'replacement' for them, they will probably have a cold if not hostile attitude toward you. In the end, it could result in some very cold and unpleasant trips for many years afterwards. To this day, the mechanics at Eastern Airlines who crossed the picket line back in the early 90's in the States, still face resentment where they work; for example, I worked with a pilot at a regional, back in 2004, who was one of those mechanics. When people would find out, they would not speak with him, even though he was no longer a mechanic, and these were people who were in grade school when Eastern went under! lol Do what you will, but taking a job because the demise of others is never a wise decision.
