Getting your foot in the door has always been the challenge. Be-it that first elusive instructing/charter job, or for some a cadetship. If you are sucessful in gaining a REX cadetship Lenroy, you will not see your current income for at least 5-6 years. Add the cost of the cadetship itself, and you will be behind (at least income wise) up to 7 years.

My first fultime flying job paid approx half of what my then "civilian" job was paying. After 5 years in GA, (training, private flying, Casual, etc..) did I hesitate. Absolutely not! whatever you do, it must be because you want this above everything else.

Be prepared for the realities however, (career progression, failure to qualify, a rollercoaster of professional ups and downs) Plenty of info in this thread about that.
