Unhappy

I looked in vain, on the Malgus website FAQs, for "How is this scheme funded?"

According to Companies House, the 2 directors have subscribed a total of £100, so I asuume the scheme is to be wholly funded from the applicants' £147 fees.

The £147 less VAT equals £125. Costs for selection tests, hotel room hire, advertising, website, printing, postage, credit card charges, etc - say - £25. So that leaves £100 to go into the training fund.

Cost estimates - BAE Jerez £50,000. Air fares, medical, pocket money £3000, so total £53,000. (Although Malgus has not been registered as a charity, I am assuming that the directors do not want to take a profit, from this scheme).

So each applicant has a 1 in 530 cahnce of success, Except:-. .Those aho are the dogs whatsits at apptitude/selection tests & interviews, should be able to shorten the odds in their favour. For those who are the dogs' excrement at such tests, Renfrew can be quiet nice for a day out in February...

I understand from previous PPRuNe threads, that Malgus did refund the applicants fees in full, after last years' scheme failed to materialise.

But please heed the usual advice, & pay the £147 by credit card. Then all you stand to lose in this lottery, is your time & travel costs to the selection venue.

I'am off to invest £147 in the National Lottery . . <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
