As a PPL who has always flown from Coventry I am now having to think about my options. As has previously been said, the longer this goes on the more people and buisiness they will lose to other airfields.

The existing flying clubs / school will have PPLs leaving to a runway that is safe and maintained, with fuel, someone to speak to on the radio and fire services.
While the situation is far from ideal and I very much hope that things are soon resolved soon for the sake of those whose livelyhood is at stake the current situation for PPL qualified pilots is actually not that bad. Sure, there is no ATC (just like many other airfields) lights or fuel (ditto) but the based aircraft can still fly. I noticed that the Coventry Aeroplane Club was very active today with PPL flying.
