I can find no mention online of RAF aircraft participation, but did find the following:

NZFPM |A Proud Tradition

One could understand if he wanted to display the jet over his hometown.

I was in Wanaka just before the 2008 Show - what a fantastic setting.

The NZFPM Museum is also on the airfield.
