Speaking from a position of some authority, only one EngO per ac would be pushing efficiency measures totally over the edge. Sure there are always goign to be those in more worthwhile jobs than others, but in case you weren't aware, engineering officers do more than just look after the ac and lead those that maintain them. Perhaps you didn't ever take the time to travel further than the Sqn or Mess bar whilst you were still flying...
I know I shouldn't have bitten but ignorance in this forum just winds me up!
