It is 45 years since I signed on the dotted line in January 1965 and became an Officer Cadet at South Cerney. RAF Manpower then was 132,000 - today it is 44,000 and falling by 5 persons every day on average.
Where are they going to get the personnel to man the "Green Godesss" vehicles the next time the firemen go on strike? (Experience shows that it is not a question of "IF" the firemen go on strike!!)
