Advantages
1. The map is familiary, so there is no new learning
2. It is easy to relate to your paper chart.
It
is the paper chart

For as long as the GPS is running, and your pre-planned route is showing on it, the real paper chart doesn't need to be looked at very much.
BTW no UK law requires the carriage of
paper charts. The ANO basically says you need to carry sufficient information for the flight etc.
