Sure we have our share of problems too. Regional airline pay stinks. There's no way to sugarcoat that fact, and it is a hotly debated topic among US pilots. Fortunately there are other types of aviation here, but regional airline pay really needs to be better.
In the US you can get hired with no money down but work for crap wages for years. In Europe you take out a huge loan to get the job with decent wages, but then have to make loan payments for years. Both ways suck. And if you lose your job in Europe you're still stuck with the loan payments.
