After one hour on a slab wing Cherokee, I learned to fly on Beagle Pups, with a few Bulldog sorties thrown in on the way. I soloed the Bulldog soon after licence issue. I then logged some dual time on Tiger Moths (difficult, but fun, in a weird way, I will go and get checked out solo on one some time when I feel like it), then did the tailwheel checkout on an L4 Cub. I then bought into a Cap 10b, which is my main aircraft now, although I still fly the Bulldog and sometimes a Pup.
I have had brief hands on, but unloggable, experience of Slingsby Firefly, Piper Colt, Chipmunk, and (very briefly) FFF's Europa. Zillions of years ago aged 15 I took off from Birmingham International in the world's most knackered Cessna 150, with the world's oddest flying club owner sitting beside me with his arms folded.
I'm hoping soon to log some dual in a Zlin and swap a ride in a Yak 52 for a ride in the Cap (any takers?).
