I had an elderly lady once put her hands together for a few claps showing her appreciation that we made it safely onto the ground, only trouble is we where still a 1000 ft or so above terra firma. The few bumps experienced prior to ldg where the only ones she felt for the entire trip so she thought we had in fact actually landed, could have been the fact that she had not ever flown before & was over 90 yrs old!
Most of y pax can't clap, not easy to do when yr unconscious!
Come to think of it I did get some sort of clap before, although we weren't airborne
