Rating Validity
The JAR SEPL is valid for 24 months from the date of issue. To be re-validated by paperwork only in the 12 month period leading up to the expiry date;
The pilot must 12 hours flying SEPL aeroplanes, of which minimums are;
6 hours PIC
1x training flight with a JAR Flight Instructor (minimum of 60 minutes undertaken as 1 flight)*
12 take-offs and 12 landings logged.
* the training flight may be replaced by any test undertaken for the issue/renewal of any JAR pilot licence/rating for any class. Should the minimum requirements be met then you may revalidate at anytime within remonths of the expiry date without loss of expiry date.
The JAR MEPL is valid for 12 months and is revalidated/renewed by a skill test only.
The word 'revalidate' means the action taken while the rating is valid and the word 'renew' means the action taken when a rating has expired.
