Too many variables to consider, I think !
There are always heaps of variables. Just use a range of reasonable assumptions.
The
important point to understand is that high-speed rail is
not inherently better for the atmosphere than flying, especially if the distance to be covered is long. Voters and "activists" in Australia assume that trains are cleaner than planes, but they're not.
