Partly correct, because a union without strong support from it's members is worth nothing.
Ask yourself the following question: why don't airlines like Air France, BA, Lufthansa, KLM etc have any of these pay-for-type-rating deals? Answer: they have a strong union and pilot corps
with a backbone and the foresight that this will lead to disaster!
