Lossie isn't a bad place to live, Elgin is expanding like crazy, Inverness is a decent night out at the weekend, Aberdeen even better and about the same time to get to. Edinburgh is only 3 hours away, Glasgow 4 hours.
True, it can be cold, damp and dark in the winter but the summer is ok to good. The mountains cause the rain to dump to the South west, so it's fairly dry. Kinloss, just down the road has the best weather factor of any airfield in the UK! Not as warm as down South (obviously!), it's usually about 7-10 degrees cooler up here.
It's true that there isn't much in the way of clubs in Elgin but Joanna's isn't that bad and the local ladies are, hmmm, accommodating!
Just make sure you have Taxi fare available and a number for Buckie taxies!
