The whizz wheel is a shorthand for the 'velocity of triangles' - look it up and try to sort out a method whihc makes snese to you.
A bit of searching on here will give you the 'wind up' and 'wind down' methods on the wheel. The critical element is it that the wheel is a visualisation of the triangle, 'get' the triangle and everything else is easy.
