Eastern tried and discarded the 145, its too expensive to run. Flybe came to the same conclusion. Turboprop is less sexy but offers similar performance on a 1 hr sector and is far less thirsty.
I believe Bmi regional are a profitable part of bmi, and with a bit of tidying up should be ok. Lufthansa run other regional feeder airlines, I would suspect they have a plan for them.
Neither flybe or eastern would buy it. They will just bide their time and move onto any viable routes when/if they become vacant?
