A very ‘tongue in cheek’ article, but there is a grain of truth in it. I will always avoid any American airline if I can and for similar reasons BA. I have flown Singapore a number of times and it is a delight to board their aircraft, not because the attendants are ‘hosties’ or servile or slim. It is their helpful and extremely pleasant attitude, nothing is to much trouble at any time of the day or night, they are very professional and consequently they will get my custom in preference to any other airline. It simply is one aspect of the travel experience that matters. One would never prod, poke, push or offend these people because they promote respect and civility; it is of course a characteristic of their culture, which unfortunately is rarely found in the ‘Anglo Saxon’ world.
