Oh Err, would you believe it!

Luton Airport has been nominated for the Best UK Airport category in the Business Travel Awards. The airport was recently evaluated by a panel of judges, including leading business travel journalists and top customers.
Luton Airport’s nomination reflects the upgrades that had been installed at the air terminal over the previous year. The airport is reviewed based on several criteria, such as value for money, quality of service, and range of offered services and products.
Currently, the airport’s modern car parking lot is located just a short hike away from the terminal gate. In addition to the enhanced parking facility, the mass transport interchange and the drop off zone at Luton Airport have been improved as well.
Luton is one of the biggest and busiest airports in the UK, after Heathrow and Gatwick airports. In 2008, over 10 million tourists travelled through Luton Airport, which serves as a main air travel hub for various destinations worldwide.
Employing more than 500 workers, the airport is a major base for low cost airlines. Budget carriers like Aer Arann, Blue Air, EasyJet, El Al, Flybe, Monarch, Ryanair, Thomson, Wind Jet and Wizz Air operate from Luton Airport. The air terminal also caters to more than 90 destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia, with connecting flights to Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Johannesburg and Bangkok via Tel Aviv.
Abertis Infraestructuras, a major infrastructure provider in Europe, holds 90 per cent of Luton Airport’s share; while Aena Internacional, a Spanish airport and air traffic control organization, owns the remaining 10 per cent.
