I can give a personal recommendation for Tatenhill Aviation. Very tidy fleet of C152s for training (PA28s, Decathlon, Comanche and Robin for aeros and touring), good instructors and in house examiner. Hard runway so no water logging, circuit not too busy but not too quiet either.
There is Derby too which may be slightly closer to you.
If you are going to be forking out a considerable amount of money on learning to fly it is worth visiting a few schools not just the closest. They all differ in many ways. See where you are made to feel welcome, look at the aircraft, meet the instructors and ask plenty of questions. Good luck!
