Getting SEP rating back
My SEP rating lapsed a couple of years ago and I want to get it back. Mainly as my Girlfriend wants me to take her flying (I think she's seen the adverts for that film Amelia) plus of course I miss it. I last flew a SE aircraft in '05, and I did keep up proper hand flying when working on the maritime coastguard stuff I did for a few years but last 2 years have been at an airline so not much use there.
I've heard that depending on whether or not 5 years has gone by since rating elapsed determines how much grief you have to go through. I gather at the least I'll be looking at a few hours flying instruction (to remember actually how to hand fly an aeroplane properly again) and then a slightly reduced version of a flight test?
SEP was valid until October 2007. Looking at logbook I last flew a single engine group A aircraft in OCT 2005.
I've also dug out my Trevor Thom books from doing my PPL in 1996. Are these still considered ok?
Cheers folks!
