The Virgin operations from MAN serve Orlando and Barbados; they are directly responsible for Virgin Holidays and sister company Travelcitydirect being the market leader from the North of England to Florida and a key player to the Caribbean. Virgin has built up this position over a number of years and has invested continuously to achieve dominance of the market.
So you suggest throwing away everything that has been achieved and instead offering customers unpleasant and consistently unreliable connections via the most unpleasant large airport in Europe. Why do you suppose that would work? We are not stupid up here - despite what you may think. If an operator does not wish to offer us MAN-MCO non-stop we will use one of the alternative carriers which does. Orlando is a mainstream destination from Manchester and has been for many years. Only the most clueless punters would tolerate a change in London to reach Florida from MAN.
Why don't you come up to Manchester (or Glasgow) and take a look around. You might be surprised - we even have electricity now. Don't trip over the cobbles.
