Mr Mueller may come to regret his comments about only 1 airport being needed for Northern Ireland but if he's against expansion at City then he clearly is a visionary leader in aviation and will do a brilliant job at EI

He's certainly added to the debate and there would appear to be growing political appetite to examine City's expansion plans which now include scrapping existing passenger limits in addition to expanding the runway to enable a dramatic increase in pollution for local residents.

I'm vehemently against expansion at Belfast City because it is plainly not required and I defy any person to build a case for it (with the exception of the owners and MOL)

However it provides or should say, has provided an excellent communication link for Belfast. That it's current owners are required to squeeze the lemon dry is down to their investment decision. The residents should not be asked to swallow the bitter pill of dramatically increased pollution at a time when most civilised societies are curbing the impact of airport pollution, particuarly where alternatives are available.

Wake up folks.
