I'm told that the Delta thing is more than just a rumour - they have applied for slots at Cardiff from Summer 2010 for a daily 757 service. There are plenty of examples of airlines applying for slots for routes which they never eventually fly, but this does at least seem to be a show by Delta that they are actively considering it. Even that is a pretty good start in today's world.
