I am probably a bit biased, as I use ORK-MAN/LPL(and LBA when it was around) reasonably regularly. But as far as I am concerned any Irish airport worth its salt needs frequent and reliable UK connections. ORK is now getting those. With the strengthening Euro and sluggish UK retail market there are plenty of bargains to be had in the UK - particularly up north and of course many commerce and business links too.
I would put it to the board that 6 ORK-UK rotations will do a lot more for the local economy than 3 rotations to Berlin.
