Could you confirm, when you say rumoured to be 40% cut in operated flights, are you referring to 40% reduction of flights in the bmi 'group' or as 40% reduction of bmi 'mainline' flights?
AFAIK, it is fairly common knowledge that LH are not impressed with the chartering that mainline does. It would appear that anti-chartering is a philosophy that LH have maintained throughout all of their companies. This would definitely reduce operated flights but not by 40%
So many good rumours exist because of subtle inaccuracies in the detail.
