About females entering KSA: Had a wife & 4 dtrs living in Jeddah. Usually no problem, but occasionally, when they returned unaccompanied, they were stopped and put in a bint holding pen...could not get released until a male family member (or suitable person) came and picked them up. Some women spent a few days there, until someone came for them, or the authorities somehow relented. My wife and dtrs were stopped about 20% of time...if you are out on a 4-7 day trip, you'd better plan for a 'suitable' person to pick them up if they are sent to the bint penalty box. Once, while I was on layover in Riyadh, a friend was able to get a daughter released, but it could make for extreme hassle. Never heard of a Western woman not allowed to leave KSA, though.
