Cork update
Cork traffic is down by around 15% for 2009.
No there are no immediate plans to extend the runway but there is talk of a 1,000ft extension at the 17 end which will allow operations to destinations as far away as Florida or Chicago if the demand is ever there for such a service.
In my view it will take a return to the halcyon days of the Celtic Tiger and an aggressive marketing strategy in ALL of Munster and south Leinster for Cork to ever become a serious player in the long haul game.
