Uniform nostalgia questions
I've just put my number one police uniform back in to my faithful EC Snaith cover, which I got at Cranwell in 1988. It is now getting a bit ridiculous, as the slot at the top for the hangar is now the entire width of said cover.
first of all, is this a record for the longevity of one of these items? Secondly, where can I get a new one? Snaiths don't seem to have a website. I have a romantic vision in my head of greying men in waistcoats, tape around their neck, still plying their trade at small tailoring stores at long-forgotten RAF outstations, writing out your bill on carbon-copy pads and placing beautifully embroidered brevet and wings in substantial brown paper bags, secured with just the right amount of sellotape.
