Yet another hotel for the airport. Hope there are enough pax left to utilise the facilities after the easy cutbacks.

Ability Group signs in Luton

Andreas Panayiatou’s Ability Group has signed up Hilton and is to develop a 250-bedroom hotel on a site next to London Luton Airport. The hotel will trade as a Hilton Garden Inn.
The property is located on Kimpton Road, just five minutes’ walk from the airport terminal building and next to Luton Parkway railway station.
Development of the site will start later in the year and the hotel is scheduled to open in 2011. Ability has appointed MDA Consultants as project managers.
The development is Ability’s fifth project with Hilton and the seventh in its hotel portfolio. In 2007, Ability and Hilton launched the UK’s first Doubletree by Hilton, in Cambridge. The pair are presently working on future hotel openings in Dunblane in Perthshire, Liverpool and Syon Park in west London.
Hilton Garden Inn is a service brand of Hilton's aimed at the mid-market traveller.
