Alternatively borrow someone elses for the day.
Did that once, wouldn't you know it, the plate the examiner wanted to quiz me on before we went flying was missing from the set.

If you aren't using them to fly approaches and keep the rating current you might be in for a surprise. Might be an interesting renewal.
As for having a few renewals under your belt, wouldn't be worth the space in the log book if your not getting some IF time to back it up.
Five renewals and five hours of IF is not going to cut it at an interview.
