OK I get it now, you are taking the "what would you do" literally as what would he
physically do. Of course, nothing!! But if his idea of safety on board (and the safety role of the stewardesses/cabin crew) is that it's a joke, apart from counting the exits then I would suggest that he started praying A LOT!
With my "What would you do" I did not suggest he started fighting the fire at all! On the contrary planes carry crew who are thoroughly trained for this! (well, at least in my airline!) It was intended as "what would you do if the stewardess/flight attendant were not there for safety reasons but just to make you smile and safety on board was just
