in my last - the problem with Russia is that it's not part of the EU, and (broadly speaking) doesn't have any kind of agreement to permit non-Russian airlines to fly anything other than bilaterals. This means that Ryanair could fly between Ireland and Russia, but would have difficulty getting Govt permission flying any other kind of route involving Russia.
