With a desperate desire to let this one fade away, but just can't let crab's last comment pass ...
So Crab, despite having a couple of ATPLs, none of the European/UK employers will give me a job because I don't meet a couple of their customer-specific requirements; Namely that I have a JAA ATPL and the right to work in Europe/UK.
Although I have demonstrated my ability to fly as PIC of multi-crew aircraft to the satisfaction of the Australians, the process of converting to a JAA ATPL is more difficult and vastly more costly than converting to the aforementioned religion, and the odds of getting the right to work are rather close to zero.
But it's still ok for European flying jobs to be advertised internationally ? Sauce, goose and gander, come to mind !
