It is certainly a sad day for CIVIL Aviation when the serving Commander of the SLAF is appointed as Chairman of the CIVIL Aviation Authority. Not only that, the appointee is a helicopter pilot who will not understand the inner workings of fixed wing international operations, ICAO Chicago Convention and the Annexes one to eighteen! The last nail has been driven into the GA 's coffin. Judging from what is happening to CIVIL aviation, Sri Lanka is well on its way to becoming a MILITARY STATE.
A land like no other?
What has the ALPGSL got to say?
