Sounds like Swissport Management using the promise of a major contract to stall/delay the industrial action until the end of the summer period then they can announce that "unfortunately they were narrowly undercut in their bid for the Thomson contract "
And like it has been previously stated on here before
if they do gain the Thomson contract there is a strong possibility that they will loose the Monarch contract.
