Ryanair BOH-EDI GBP160 rtn Flybe SOU-EDI GBP256 rtn
Comparing flight prices between Ryanair 7 Oct 06:45 departure from BOH and returning 8 Oct 21:45 and Flybe's 7 Oct 06:40 departure from SOU and returning 8 Oct 21:40 is very interesting.
Flybe seems to force you to select seats, but at the same time reveals load factor information! The flight was 76% full. Ryanair doesnt do that. I found it irritating that i couldnt work out how to progress without having to pay for the seats.
Ryanair's return fares (160) including bags and priority boarding were still over 100 quid cheaper than Flybe with no priority boarding.
I found Ryanair's website more informative and transparent - telling you every step what the charges would be, but i found Flybe to be full of hidden charges, too busy and irritating.
