It's all in a name

I've never really understood why this forum is called Passengers & SLF (Self Loading Freight.)

Surely "passengers" and "self-loading freight" are one and the same?

So my question is: Is there a difference between a passenger and a living, breathing item of self-loading freight?

Perhaps a passenger is someone who doesn't have to pay up to £160 to reserve their business class seats on BA while SLF is the person in the seat in front who did?

Maybe passengers gets smiled at and escorted to the front of the plane on boarding while SLF sit at the back and pay for overpriced sandwiches and drinks?
