At the very minimum, the airline that employs you to fly to and overnight these high-risk ports should provide adequate instruction, training and guidance on how to survive the experience when your duty assigns you to such places.
Oh I forgot...that would require a DFO who had a even basic understanding of what flight operations entailed and who was prepared to ensure the safety of his crews...
